The primary tenant receives all automatic communication from Proper via email, such as payment requests and reminders.
You must have a primary tenant and only one tenant can be assigned this title. But you can change which tenant you'd like to assign this to, by following these steps:
Step-by-step guide
- Go to the Tenants & contacts section in a lease
- Click on the three dots (ยทยทยท) on the right side of a tenant
- Click on Set as primary tenant.
If a tenant has been set as the primary tenant, you won't be able to immediately remove them from a lease. If you want to do so, you must first set another tenant as the primary tenant - after which, the option to remove the first tenant will re-appear.
