You can automatically sign up your new tenants for electricity with EWII. This way you avoid prepaying electricity for the lease and your tenant can benefit from the green energy from EWII. You can read more about the benefits of EWII’s automatic administration service on their website.
If your tenant is not registered, they either have to sign up for another electricity provider themselves or you might be responsible for providing electricity for the lease. This is dependant on what you indicate in the rental contract.
How does it work?
To get your tenant signed up, you simply select “Sign my tenant up” during the step “Add electricity agreement” when you are setting up a new lease.
You are then asked to state the CPR number of your tenant or the CVR number if a company is renting your property. Please keep in mind that your primary tenant will be signed up for the service, so match the correct number to the tenant. We will share the CPR number with EWII only, and not store it longer than needed to abide to GDPR principles.
When you send the lease contract for digital signature, the tenant will also receive a Power of Attorney that they have to sign in order to get registered. When the tenant signs the contract, Proper automatically sends the required information to EWII to register your tenant. No further action required from your side.
If you download your contract to manage the signing manually, you will also get the option to download the Power of Attorney, so that the tenant can sign it. Please remember to upload the signed document when you get it back, so the tenant can be registered.
Proper will then send all the necessary information directly to EWII who will contact your tenant regarding further necessary information.
If you don’t create a contract through Proper, you will also have the option to download the Power of Attorney to get the signature from your tenant and upload it again after signing.
What if the tenant changes his mind or moves out?
Your tenant has the option to revoke their registration with EWII within the first two weeks which will result in a cancellation. Usually your tenant is then responsible to find another electricity provider.
Once a tenant moves out, Proper automatically informs EWII. We will either send the information about the new tenant to be registered or in case of vacancy, the owner's information. Please be aware that EWII requires a CVR number for us to sign up the owner's information.
