Proper comes with a list of industry-specific products that you can add to bills. To tailor bills to your needs you can also edit that list of products. You can add custom products, edit Proper’s products to reflect your naming convention or archive products when they’re no longer relevant.
To set up a new product, follow these steps:
- Navigate to the Settings tab in the top right hand corner
- Then click on Products in the left-hand menu
To add a custom product to your list, click on Add product and simply specify the name of your new product.
The custom products you create will be added to your list of products, and will also be visible in your dashboard and reports.
Please note that the platform automation is built on the Proper products. These, and not custom products, should be used when creating bills to charge for rent, deposit etc. You are free to edit the name of these products to fit your needs.
To edit a product’s name:
- Click on Edit under the three dots on the right of the product.
- Type in the desired name and click Update.
- The product’s new name is now live.
To archive a product, follow these steps:
- Click on Archive under the three dots on the right of the product to hide the product from future use. This will not delete the item, so all recurring bills with this item still function accordingly.
- You can always revive a product, if you need it again. To do so, go to the Archived products list and click on Unarchive.
Note: If you have Visma e-conomic, Proper assigns any new product to a default product. Make sure to specify your desired mapping by navigating to Apps > Visma e-conomic > Products.
